from 9AM - 5PM (6 CEUs included)

This all-day workshop is designed for mental health professionals and nutritionists working with eating disorders who want to develop an understanding of how cortical, subcortical and autonomic nervous system activation play a role in eating disorder symptoms. Traditional “talk” therapy generally ignores the sensory-motor aspects of experience and is limited in its access to implicit or “subconscious” patterns, relying solely on declarative memory and explicit content. But the body holds both subconscious information and self-regulating resources. Learn to access this information through somatic awareness and help clients integrate lower sensory-motor responses with higher cognitive processing to reduce symptoms and increase resiliency. A Message from Dr. Carol Clark:

 Happy New Year Everyone!

In my book, Addict America: The Lost Connection, I talk about the messages I’ve received from the Universe that come when I’m in need of answers, when I’m troubled, or even when I’m still and taking time to just be. Messages can come from anywhere at any time but in the end, they are all variations of the same theme – we are Connected. I subscribe to a few daily newsletters and I invariably read what I need to hear on any given day. Below is a sample that I want to share today.

 Be In Light

Carol

Spiritual Seekers

Monday December 31, 2012

Part of the trap of a spiritual path is that one runs the risk of becoming a seeker instead of a finder.

We get energy from being inspired, from studying, from intellectually understanding the changes that we need to make. So we keep seeking to be re-inspired, to learn new things, or find a new way of hearing it.

The truth is, we can try everything from yoga to a retreat to a psychic to tarot cards to crystals, but until we truly do the work of changing ourselves we will always be seeking and never finding.

We’re not here to feel good for a second and then move on to the next fad.

We’re here to change into a being who can have all of the abundance the universe means for us to receive.

Committing to a path of change is hard. Find a path that can really support you and make it long-term.
